Parent commissioning represents a commitment on behalf of the parent to raise their child “in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4), and the commitment of Biltmore church to walk alongside families on that journey.
Through Parent Commissioning, we will help you discover your role and responsibility in your child’s spiritual development and how we, as a church, will partner with you in that mission.
Whether you are a first time parent through birth or adoption, have welcomed a new child into your family, or are new to Biltmore Church, we would love to partner with you in raising your child to follow Jesus.
Parent Commissioning is a two step process.
1. Orientation and Dinner (Thursday Evening)
- At orientation, we will discuss your biblical role and responsibility as a parent, and how Biltmore Church will partner with and help equip you along the way. At the dinner, your family will receive a gift to help you get started on your discipleship journey!
*attendance at orientation is mandatory in order to participate in parent commissioning *
2. Commissioning (Sunday Morning)
- During service on Sunday morning, you will be commissioned as the primary discipler in your home, making a commitment to raise your child to follow Jesus. The church will also commit to coming alongside you in that journey.
